From seeing a total to understanding its cause
Breaking a sales total down by customer, product or period helps locate a change. Edge BI's filters and visual analysis support that exploration. The source data must contain the relevant dimensions for the result to be meaningful.
Different sources, one analytical model
Data preparation tools support cleaning, transforming and combining sources. Identically named fields can still have different meanings. Treating order date and invoice date as one date can produce a misleading comparison inside an otherwise clear chart.
Ready content and business-specific measures
Ready reports for areas such as sales, finance and production provide a starting point. Company-specific order states, cost definitions and production classifications still need to be represented in the model. A ready chart cannot decide what the business means by a measure.
Presenting the findings of an analysis
Drag-and-drop visualisations and Interactive Data Storytelling support presenting analytical findings. Web and mobile access are available. A shared view needs to make its filters and refresh time understandable alongside the chart.
The difference from BI Navigator
Edge BI emphasises visual exploration using Qlik Sense. Edge BI Navigator puts ERP reporting across Excel, web and mobile at the centre of its working experience. Both provide reports; the choice also reflects how people investigate information and use existing reports.
What production and sales measures represent
Vibe's experience includes detailed production, order, dispatch and sales reporting. Produced quantity, dispatched quantity and invoice value are different measures. Their periods, units and treatment of returns need to be explicit before they can be compared meaningfully.
