Connected accounting records
Integration with ERP and accounting software supports transferring period data into the ledger process. Transaction descriptions, document information and account entries originate in the source system, so their quality carries into the output.
A standard file structure
The solution uses an XBRL-based electronic ledger structure. Accounting records are processed as structured electronic files, extending beyond their presentation on a screen.
Schematron checks
Schematron checks help identify problems against defined electronic file rules. Passing a technical check does not establish that an entry uses the correct account or accurately describes its underlying transaction.
Ledger and certificate storage
Electronic ledgers and their associated certificate files are retained digitally. Organising them by company and period helps prevent retrieval of the wrong period or an incomplete group of files.
Part of the period-close process
e-Ledger processes files derived from accounting records; it does not automatically complete missing source entries. Implementation connects company and period settings, data transfer, user responsibilities and file retention. Clear ownership between completing the accounts and preparing electronic files helps prevent different versions of the same period's records from being used.
