Employee and organisational records
An employee's record, position and place in the organisation support subsequent HR processes. Keeping starters, leavers and job changes in the same structure helps maintain consistent people and department information from approvals through reporting.
Goals and competencies
Performance management can use defined goals, competencies and different evaluator roles. Career management supports development plans. This connects a review with the employee's development needs instead of leaving it as a period-end score.
Training and employee self service
Training management tracks development activities. The employee portal carries leave, advance and overtime requests between employees and managers, connecting the request, approving person and employee record within the same process.
Pay and access rights
Payroll, compensation and employee receivables and payables fall within the product's scope. Form and field permissions limit access to sensitive information. Manager visibility must be defined alongside organisational responsibilities.
When to choose it over Cloud HR or Bordro Plus
Edge HR is relevant when performance, training and career management belong within the same HR structure. Cloud HR provides cloud-based core HR and payroll; Bordro Plus is payroll-focused. Module selection follows these different scopes.
Getting the HR structure right
Confusing an employee's former and current managers also affects approvals. Positions, reporting relationships and effective dates therefore need clean starting records. Importing old lists without reconciling leave and payroll balances carries their errors into the new system.
